21 AT C3: Day 5 Devotion

Reading: Daniel 10:1-14; James 4:6-10

Devotional: Daniel's breakthrough came not just from fasting, but from humbling himself before God. The angel declared, "From the first day you purposed to understand and humble yourself, your prayers were heard." Fasting isn't manipulating God to move toward you; it's positioning your heart to receive from Him. Humility says, "I want God more than I want my preferences." It chooses collective calling over personal convenience. When your church family is fasting together, humility asks, "How can I join them?" not "What excuse can I make?" Pride keeps us distant; humility draws us near. God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble. Your posture determines your breakthrough.
