You're Living In The Future Now - Week 2

Jan 18, 2026    Pastor Damon Davis

This powerful teaching draws us into the parable of the ten virgins from Matthew 25, revealing a profound truth about spiritual preparedness in these unprecedented times. We're living in an era where UAPs appear in our skies, AI technology reshapes reality, and the spiritual and natural worlds seem to be pressing closer together than ever before.

The message challenges us to understand that all ten virgins knew the bridegroom was coming, but only five were truly prepared. The difference wasn't just having oil, it was having capacity and the willingness to trim their lamps by cutting away the dark, dead parts of their lives. This speaks to the distinction between imputed righteousness, which God freely gives us, and practiced righteousness, which is our response to His grace. We're called not just to believe in Christ's appearing, but to love His appearing, and that love translates into sacrifice.

When we love someone deeply, we sacrifice for them, and our love for Christ should inspire us to sacrifice our anger, our comfort, and our sinful habits. The thinning between the spiritual and natural realms means we're witnessing the birth pangs of progressive revelation, which are growing more intense and frequent. The call isn't to fear but to draw closer to the Holy Spirit, our personal guide who convicts us of sin, judgment, and righteousness.

We're wise virgins when we expand our capacity, trim our lamps, and remember we're not of this world even though we're still in it.
