And Then Comes Marriage Wk 2
I hope this message finds you walking in the light of God's truth and grace. If you were with us this past Sunday, you experienced the beginning of a powerful new series that I believe will transform how we view relationships. If you missed it, I encourage you to catch the replay because this message is for everyone—whether you're single, dating, or married.
Summary: The sermon "And Then Comes Marriage" explored God's original design for romantic relationships and how we've often excluded Him from the very thing He created. We examined how Adam made a conscious choice to exclude God from his relationship with Eve, setting a pattern that continues today. The central truth is this: God is not only the designer but also the operator of your romantic life. When two people come together with God at the center, they don't just become better—they become unbroken. A threefold cord is not easily broken (Ecclesiastes 4:12), but most of us have been building relationships without the key ingredient: God Himself.
Takeaways:
Two plus two equals three in God's mathematics. When you bring yourself and God together with another person and God, the result is you, them, AND God in the middle. This is the only way to have an unbroken relationship rather than just a better one.
Stop making peanut butter cookies without peanut butter. We've learned about relationships from culture, movies, music, and broken examples—everywhere except from God's Word. It's time to renew our minds and build relationships according to the divine recipe, with God as the essential ingredient.
No matter how combustible, it's always fixable. Isaiah 61:3 promises beauty for ashes. Whether your relationship is broken or you're starting fresh, God can transform what seems destroyed into something beautiful—but you must be willing to surrender the ashes and let Him lead differently.
As we continue this series leading up to Easter, I encourage you to honestly evaluate: Does the state of your romantic life look like God is the operator, or are you operating freely? What is your scriptural basis for how you're building relationships? And most importantly, are you willing to let God teach you and lead you differently according to His design?
Remember, it's easier to build marriages the right way than to fix broken ones—but God is in the business of renovations. Wherever you are in your journey, bring those ashes to Him today.
