Hiring The Holy Spirit - Week 2 (10:30 am)

Jun 8, 2025    Minister Louis Parks

This message, delivered by Minister Louis Parks on Pentecost Sunday, focuses on being "Immersed in the Holy Spirit" as part of the "Hiring the Holy Spirit" series. Pentecost commemorates the time God poured out His Holy Spirit, fulfilling prophecies that this would happen in the last days.

Jesus promised the Helper, making His departure advantageous so the Holy Spirit, a divine person of the Godhead, could come and abide with believers forever. The disciples were instructed to wait for this "promise of the Father." The day of Pentecost commemorates the giving of the Holy Spirit, equipping the Church with the necessary power and authority to carry out God's divine will. Even Jesus Christ did not begin His earthly ministry until He received this baptism.

On the Day of Pentecost, believers were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, which is the initial evidence of receiving this baptism.

Full immersion produces righteousness in the believer by convicting the heart, grants power over the flesh to resist temptation, and guides us into all truth. Spiritual gifts are manifested for the "profit of all". To experience breakthrough, believers must operate in unity, create an atmosphere for God’s power through time spent in prayer and worship, and must allow the Holy Spirit to move freely, taking care not to quench the Holy Spirit.
